The Writing Process
Best Foot Forward believes in the value of consultative service. We cannot write a résumé that properly represents you without your cooperation and input. Whether you prefer to work by email or over the telephone, we will work with you step by step, requesting the information we need to create your résumé, cover letter and other documents.
Ordering your chosen service from Best Foot Forward is easy:
Email for a free consultation. Provide any information to help us customize your résumé to fit the type of job you want. Useful information includes a current résumé, career goals, job advertisements and job descriptions.
We aim to respond within 24 hours with a recommendation for changes to your documents and the service that is right for your needs and your budget. You may choose to make the changes yourself, or hire us to do so.
If you choose to hire us, we will send a service agreement for your approval, along with an email invoice. The invoice must be paid in full to schedule an interview consultation. You may choose to pay by Paypal or credit card, or via email transfer.
Once payment is received, we will arrange an interview via telephone. This consultation typically lasts an hour, depending on your job category and experience level. For those clients who prefer, or where schedules make a telephone interview difficult, we will send a worksheet for completion via email.
Following the consultation, our writers will prepare and polish your documents, and return a draft to you by email. Document delivery times will be negotiated depending on our current workload and your needs, but our normal turnaround time is 7 days. (Ask about rush services - 48-hour delivery - available for a fee.)
Review your document(s) with our writer, by telephone, or via e-mail, until you are completely satisfied. We will fine-tune your résumé and/or cover letter and make changes as needed, within 14 days of the delivery date. You will receive your final résumé and/or cover letter by email, in MS Word and/or PDF formats.
